Hi Eva, I love the concept for the new podcast. I am releasing my first non-fiction book in a couple of weeks. It took me nearly 15 years to get to this point! ahh! lol. Although it's self-published, I have some agent stories. I would love to send you a copy to check out.

Amazing! I look forward to listening! Some advice: I started out hosting my podcast right on Substack, but after two seasons moved it over to Buzzsprout, which so far I love. (Buzzsprout also handles interfacing with Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc. All very simple.)

The best site for theme/intro music is Music Fox - https://www.musicfox.com/en/ They're a German company with a HUGE searchable library, and after you choose your music you pay a very reasonable fee for lifetime licensing rights.

You can check out how the Buzzsprout interface looks, and hear my snazzy theme music, here: https://doctorwaffle.buzzsprout.com/2418502/episodes/15998203-dr-waffle-friends-ep-3-1-who-in-the-world-do-you-think-you-are

Eva, I love this! And I think you're super smart to announce you're going to do it and figure it out as you go--I think starting before you totally ready is actually the way to go!

This sounds wonderful, Eva. I will certainly listen. I have not been published yet, still working on my memoir. I think 2025 is the year it will be ready for an editor and an agent, unless I decide to self-publish. Congratulations on making this BIG decision!

You need rights to your music for your show. Choose something hat has no drums!!!! Less is more and pay attention to musical interludes that act like ellipses. Our show had a blue grass vibe (not my choice). What I liked is that the composer layered tracks that could be used in different ways. I want to hear writers read their work during an episode or as promo. Do the interview in different environments. My best interview was done from my guest car on her phone. Sonya Carruthers is the one 🥰
