About Me

I’m the host and creator of The Long Road to Publishing, found wherever you get your podcasts!

I’ve been writing seriously for twenty years, and I have a lot to share about what I’ve learned.

I received my MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of New Orleans, and my creative work has been published in journals and nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

I’m also no stranger to the querying process, which had a happy ending for me: I am now represented by Ali Lake of O’Connor Literary.

These days I mostly write novels and teach workshop classes at The Writers Center in Bethesda, MD. I am also the host/creator of the podcast The Long Road to Publishing, and the cohost of the podcast This Mama is Lit!, brought to you by Literary Mama Magazine.

I’ve got loads of resources to share, whether you’re just starting to write or have a manuscript you’re hoping to get published.
