Natural misquito repellant - purple martins from Brazil. They're great birds and fly north annually, hang around for the summer, have their young, and head home. See if your community will try to establish a habitat around the lake. They live in gourd like houses and are beautiful birds!!! A restaruant my wife and I go to in Seabeck on Hood Canal (Washington State) has them all over and they are a draw for the community like our eagles.
Oh, I love this idea. I’m going to look into it and suggest it to our town council. I know there’s the same idea with bat houses, so maybe we need some bat houses at the lake, too.
